Service Description


Request for support for the purchase of artisanal/advanced fishing boats, coastal fishing vessels, equipment and devices

  1. 1- A copy of a valid identity card.
  2. 2- A copy of the manpower record card.
  3. 3- A copy of a valid fishing license.
  4. 4- A copy of a valid shark hunting license
  5. 5- A copy of the boat/ship license (if any).
  6. 6- To Whom It May Concern certificate (not working) from the Ministry of Manpower
  7. 7- Social security certificate (if any).
  8. 8- A salary proof certificate from the employer.
  9. 9- A photograph.
  10. 10- A copy of the valid navigational license.
  11. 11- A valid copy of the initial approval for operating a coastal fishing vessel.
  12. 12- A copy of the commercial registration papers - computer papers - signature form.
  13. 13- Submitting an economic feasibility study (for companies) and the ship's business plan (for institutions).
  14. 14- Submitting a quotation for the manufacture of the ship from one of the institutions and companies registered in the Ministry.
  15. 15- A copy of the ship's manufacturing plans according to the conditions and specifications set by the Ministry.
  1. 1- That the beneficiary of the support is obligated to implement the provisions of the Marine Fishing Law and protect water wealth, its executive regulations and the decisions implementing it.
  2. 2- He should not have been sentenced to the beneficiary of the support in a violation of the Maritime Fishing Law during the last two years before approved his entitlement to support.
  3. 3- The Ministry has the right to take the necessary measures to ensure that the beneficiary does not support the sale or relinquish the boat, ship, equiPMent, devices, or equiPMent obtained through support.
  4. 4- The support is granted according to the precedence of the requests that meet the established conditions and the owner of the request, and it may not be transferred to another person except in the event of death, so one of the heirs that meets the conditions for granting support based on the agreement of all the other heirs on multiple, and with the approval of the ministry.
  5. 5- That the beneficiary of the support must have a license to practice the profession of marine fishing (craftsmanship / coastal) in effect.
  6. 6- Support is granted to coastal ships that meet the conditions and specifications prescribed by the ministry.
  7. 7- The beneficiary of the support should not be the owner of a sophisticated / advanced fishing boat from the same boat to support, unless the boat is not valid to work according to a technical report.
  8. 8- That the beneficiary of the support with the engine of the owner of a valid licensed fishing boat.
  9. 9- The beneficiary of the support may obtain two engines for an advanced fishing boat.
  10. 10- The beneficiary of the support is obligated to purchase boats, engines, devices, equiPMent and fishing tools supported in accordance with the conditions and technical specifications prescribed by the ministry.
  11. 11- That the beneficiary of the support to purchase the Sharkha fishing cages must have a valid fishing license.
  12. 12- It is not permissible to obtain support for a literal / advanced / coastal ship for the second time until after the lapse of ten years and five years for the engine from the date of obtaining support.
  13. 13- The beneficiary of the support for the auxiliary devices in the fishing process must be the owner of a sophisticated craftsman / boat / a valid licensed coastal ship and registered with the competent authorities and proving the presence of a specialized worker and familiar with the operation of the device or equiPMent on board the coastal ship.
  14. 14- It is not permissible to obtain support with fishing devices, equiPMent or tools for the second time except after the lapse of three years from the date of obtaining support.
  15. 15- The priority of support is determined according to the following ranking:
  16. • The full -time to work in the fishing profession who have no other source of income.
  17. Social Security.
  18. • People with limited income according to what is determined by the competent authorities.
  19. • Job seekers.
  20. • Institutions and companies in which Omani cadres work with specialized scientific qualifications in the fishing sector.
  21. • Institutions and companies with higher levels of Omani according to what is determined by the competent authorities.
  22. • Institutions and companies that have infrastructure (factories and fish transport cars).
  23. 16- The beneficiary of the support may not dispose of sale or waiver the boat supported within five years and the coastal ships within ten years, and for engines, equiPMent, devices and supplies supported within three years from the date of support except with written approval from the competent directorate.
  24. 17- The beneficiary of the support is obligated to purchase coastal fishing vessels to provide an economic feasibility study and the ship's work plan after being evaluated by the ministry’s competent authorities, and that he pledges to commit to the implementation of the work plan approved by the ministry.
