Service Description


This service enables citizens to register a request to provide care for a child who lacks family support at the Childhood Care Center, in accordance with the conditions and procedures outlined in the family care and custody regulation. The service is available at the Ministry headquarters and the social Development departments in all governorates.

  1. • A copy of the passport or identity card.
  2. • A personal photo.
  3. • Certificate of no criminal record.
  4. • Marriage contract certificate or marital status certificate (for unmarried, widowed, or divorced individuals).
  5. • Medical examination report to confirm the absence of communicable and infectious diseases.
  6. • Pledge to allow the fostered child to adopt the foster family's surname (surname + name of the father only) if that practice is adopted in the future.
  7. • An undertaking from a relative of the family to take custody of the child in the event of any emergency for the custodial family.
  8. • Undertaking to visit the child for supervision and follow-up, with or without prior notice (attached).
  9. • Salary certificate.
  10. • Proof of title of the house or a lease contract.
  11. • Documentation of any private work, if applicable.
  1. • A Muslim Omani family consisting of a good couple and it is permissible when necessary to embrace a woman by a woman.
  2. • That the age of the spouses or the incubating woman ranges between 25-55 years.
  3. • The couple must be a biography and behavior.
  4. • To be able to care for the child socially and psychologically from the reality of social research conducted by the competent authority, and priority is given to embrace the economically capable family.
