Service Description


Obtaining a permit to install an advertising banner on private land, roofs or building facades.

  1. Filling in the application form for the installation of an advertising banner (available on the website of the Muscat Municipality).
  2. - Bring proof that the establishment has obtained an activity (advertising institutions and agencies) in case of advertising to a third party with a valid license to practice an activity / economic license.
  3. - A copy of the title deed and the survey drawing of the land or building on which the sign is to be installed.
  4. - Bring a realistic visualization - model - clear of the sign showing its sizes with recent photographs of the building.
  5. - A letter from the owner of the building stating approval to install the sign on the building.
  6. - The approval of the Food Safety and Quality Center in the case of advertising food products only.

  2. - The technical requirements differ according to the type of sign to be installed, and these requirements can be viewed by visiting the Municipality of Muscat.
  3. - It is forbidden to install advertising signs on residential buildings.
  4. - It is forbidden to install advertising banners for the purpose of advertising and advertising on public lands such as street sidewalks except through certain controls determined by the relevant authority.
