A Royal Decree is a law issued by the head of state, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman. Once it is officially issued in public, it comes into immediate effect.

A Royal Decree is numbered sequentially along with the year in which is it officiated. For example, Royal Decree No. 63/2019 established the Ministry of Technology and Communications (MTC) of Oman and it was issued in 2019.
