A Royal Decree is a law issued by the head of state, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Sultan of Oman. Once it is officially issued in public, it comes into immediate effect.

A Royal Decree is numbered sequentially along with the year in which is it officiated. For example, Royal Decree No. 52/2006 established the Information Technology Authority (ITA) of Oman and it was issued on the 31st May 2006. Please refer to the complete list of Royal Decrees issued in Oman (Arabic Only).
