Water, Electricity, and Sanitation Services
The government is keen to provide the necessary services to citizens directly, through phone or through websites. Moreover, electricity service providing companies offer many services such as: connecting new power line, changing power cords, making complaints about electricity services, delivery of new water pipes, and others.
The following are some of the services provided by the Public Authority for Electricity and Water and the Ministry of Municipalities and Water Resources:
- Connecting a new water meter
- Connecting an additional meter
- Excavation Permit
- Electricity Holding Company provides various services to its subscribers through the Internet, such as paying bills or requesting power line services. Moreover, "My E-Portal" website facilitates the process of accessing the service providers of water and electricity in the various regions of the Sultanate. Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources provides sanitation services through 360 sewage treatment plants which re-injects the treated water into the ground to enhance groundwater renewability, and through 58 other stations that collect and transfer sewage. Sewage tankers service is also for homes and institutions.
