The Department of Societies and Community Clubs at the Ministry of Social Development is in charge supervises these associations and follows up with their activities as well as their compliance with the rules and regulations stipulated on this regard.
This department works with four other departments:
- Department of Omani Women's Associations.

- Department of Professional Organizations.
- Department of Community Clubs.
The department has issued statistics for the number of associations and departments working under its system until the end of 2011, which has reached 124 associations and clubs, to follow up with the activities of these associations and provide them with the best services and facilities.
Omani youth are active in voluntary work as they are aware of its importance to help solve social issues in the community.
